Chain Lube B845 was developed to meet the extreme lubrication demands of industry and the environment. The PAG in the formulation offers hydrodynamic lubrication capabilities for roller chains, including caterpillar drive chains. Chain Lube B845 has a high water content, which essentially eliminates any fire hazard. Furthermore, any volatiles emitted by Chain Lube B845 are water vapour as opposed to solvent vapours, which are hazardous to the environment. Chain Lube B845 contains a water-soluble molybdenum disulfide that works to reduce friction, wear and energy consumption. The molybdenum disulfide also provides boundary lubrication and dry film protection.
Chain Lube B845 can be applied to chains at temperatures from ambient to 90°C (194°F), but the dry film can lubricate at temperatures up to 315°C (600°F).
Chain Lube B845 was specially formulated to be applied by ALT’s automated lubrication systems.
