ALT takes safety seriously. We can work with your engineering team to add in emergency stops, fail-safes, and redundancies to all our lubrication systems and conveyor cleaning products. Does your application have a unique safety requirement? Our team routinely works to create custom safety features specifically for customer requirements.
Our lubricants are proactively formulated to reduce hazards while improving performance. We adopted the GHS standard for SDS reporting and disclosure nearly 3 years before being required to as a demonstration of our efforts to reduce hazards. Do you have questions about SDS documents or their contents? Please call us or email us, and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
Is your conveyor lubrication system behind a lock-out gate or safety-grating making it difficult for you to inspect the alignment or make adjustments? Ask us about our remote-monitoring and remote-adjusting capabilities. Conveyor chain lubrication is more than just moving oil, its about proactively keeping your workers safe and prolonging the life of your machines.
ALT is proud to back our products with a 1-year warranty against manufacturer’s defects. Are you unsure if your ALT product is covered by the warranty? Please give us call, and we can help you determine the warranty status of the product, and find the fastest way to get the product back up and running.

For most lubricant, replacement part, and stock equipment orders, we typically ship within one business day. For made-to-order products or projects, lead times depend on the size and scope of the project, please contact your ALT sales rep or our head office to discuss the details.
Our typical payment terms are NET 30 DAYS for our conveyor chain lubrication, cleaning, and wear monitoring products. For projects and multistage installations, please contact your ALT sales rep to discuss.
Please send your request for tracking information to info@appliedlubrication.com or contact your ALT sales rep. Most orders can be tracked upon request.
If you’ve ordered from us before, please send your SDS request to info@appliedlubrication.com. If you’re considering using ALT products, and would like see the SDS before receiving chemicals or samples into your facility, please contact your ALT sales rep for SDS requests.
Most of our products come with a limited 1-year warrant against manufacturer’s defects. Please see our warranty page for more information, and contact us if you have additional questions.
Most lubricants are formulated to primarily to reduce friction and lubrication between surfaces that are already moving quickly relative to one-another. This is typically the case with plain bearings, motors, etc. The technical term for this is hydrodynamic regime lubrication, where the properties of the fluid dictate the performance of the fluid.
Conveyor chain wear surfaces between the pin and the chain link are often static relative to each other. Think of a long straight stretch of a conveyor process, there is little rotational motion that would cause the surfaces to rub against each other, and not enough rotational motion to draw the lubricant into the wear surfaces. Then the link goes into a corner sprocket, were it slowly rotates less than one full revolution.
Right when these surfaces start to slide is time when most of the wear occurs. Our lubricants are formulated specifically for this boundary lubrication regime wear the properties of the wear-surfaces dominate the lubricant performance. Our low viscosity carrier fluids penetrate in between the wear-surfaces even with little rotational motion. They then coat the surfaces with a solid lubricant (Molybdenum Disulfide, Graphite, Boron Nitride) or a chemical additive that binds to the surface, reducing the friction and wear between those two surfaces.
Yes. Our lubricants will penetrate under the built-up dirt and debris on the chain, lift it, and displace it, resulting in a cleaner chain. They will also reduce the amount of ‘build-up’ that could occur in the future. For severe conditions, we also have a line of cleaning products including powered & non-powered wire brushes that can help remove built-up dirt and debris from the chain.
When safe to do so, the tubes can be adjusted with a set of pliers. We recommend think small when adjusting, as small nudges to the ejection tubes can become large alignment changes. Aim the lubricant shots towards the wear surfaces, looking for the seam through which the lubricant will eventually penetrate.
The ejection tube may be pinched or clogged. Try gently wiping the end of the tube with a rag, taking care to not bend or shift the tube. If it is still not shooting straight or shuttling cleanly, the tube may have been pinched. Using a set of sharp tube snips, try cutting off 1/8” of the clogged end. If the issue persists, please contact your ALT service rep.
Please check to make sure the reservoir has been filled. This should resolve most issues. If it persists, please contact our office or your ALT service rep.
Try holding the fault or system reset button for a ‘3-count’. This will not affect any lubricator settings. If the issue persists, please contact our office or your ALT service rep.
Take a look to see what the sensor is detecting. If it’s a magnetic proximity sensor, and bolts, wheels, or edges that come within 0.5 cm of the sensor may trigger it. Minor adjustments should be made until the sensor is only detecting the prescribed ‘pick-up point’. If is a photo sensor, the range can be as much as 18”. Look for anything that could be passing in the path of the sensor, and make minor alignment adjustments or changes to the sensitivity as needed.
Check to make sure the sensor (especially with magnetic proximity sensors) is close enough the prescribed pickup point (0.5cm). The lens of a photosensor should be periodically cleaned so that it doesn’t get blocked.
The short answer is: It depends. While we can calculate usage fairly accurately given a prescribed list of settings, settings often need to be changed with time. Conveyors are also open-systems, and things like minor changes in conveyor processes, changes in the ambient environment, and changes in operation frequency can cause changes to the ideal lubricator settings. Contact your ALT sales or service rep if you wish to put together a few potential use-cases.
