The Piston Tank uses the same forces to maintain a prime to the pump and remove grease from the tank as the floating drum follower shown above. The difference is that the Piston Tank follower forms an air tight seal to the wall of the container – the drum follower does not.
As grease is pumped from the tank, natural forces that are being applied to the top surface of the follower are providing a positive prime to the pump. The follower continues to apply pressure to the grease until the tank is near empty.
